The Sin Eater

Last night we watched a movie made by Michael Landon Jr. entitled “The Sin Eater”. Strange title maybe, but an interesting movie. Not well done particularly, but some very haunting parts/scenes/lines. They suggested that angels can be involved in our day to day existence and struggles and that certainly accords with Scripture. And just yesterday I received a post from my dear old grade/high school (long lost) friend Roger Sattler. The main thrust of Roger’s post? What else? Angels, well, one in particular. I at first discounted his conclusion that a particular young person may have been involved in his life at a tough time as an angel. But after seeing the movie this morning, before we had to catch a flight, I’ve reconsidered and maybe Roger’s mysticism/assumption is not so out of place. We’re told in the New Testament that we should be on the lookout because we may at some point be showing hospitality to an angel. Who knows except a sovereign God, right?

Anyway, if you’ve not seen The Sin Eater and you can stand a contemplative message from a movie that’s not the smoothest Hollywood product, check it out. Me and Linda were in tears more than once. Some of the acting and cinematography was not too shabby either.
